Paintings - Ink
We were put into pairs and started to experiment with painting with ink. I really like the texture and feel you get from ink the depths you can create from just one layer. The images above are created from only using white ink on black paper, I have edited them as I took photos of the piece and the photos didn't really capture the colours and textures that well.
In this piece we had started to introduce colours. I really like the subtle use of the blues and greens.

First Time Developing A Film
This was my first experience using an analogue camera, I am really please with this outcome. I was trying to capture people in their environment. This image really captures the worker in the working surroundings. When I was taking this photo i was trying to capture the geometric shapes with the horizontal lines created by the garage door and then the vertical lines created by the 'jack' leaver on the right hand side and the shapes and reflections made by the car on the left hand side really bring this image together.

Quiet Bus Ride
In this piece I was trying to create the scene of a lonely bus ride or journey. I always find myself on my own on my journey home from work, so in this I wanted to capture the feelings of loneliness, quietness and stillness. I do not feel this image completely captures all that I was planning and hoping for but I too really like this photo as a composition.

Hand Stencil
This is a photocopy of my arm which I stencilled out a triangular pattern using a ruler, pencil and a lot of concentration.
The draft of some illustration to maybe be added to this piece.

Victoria Art Gallery - 'William Harbutt' by E.Whitney Smith 1911
I really liked the lines and shapes that this statue was made up of so I did a series of 2 minute line drawings from many angles to really capture the many shapes and texture they create.

Typology II - Textures
Following on from the Typology of Bus Stops I chose to collect a series of documentations of different textures and arrange them in the order going from rough to soft.

Typology I - Bus Stops
A Typology is defined as a systematic classification or study of different types of an object.
I decided to focus on an object many of us don't acknowledge but use in our every day lives, bus stops. Here I have documented a series of bus stops and recorded them by using photography and taking each image from (nearly) the exact same angle, I did this so I could easily compare each bus stop fairly.

Type Box
This is a piece I designed in my own time. On the sides of the box It spells out the words 'Whats In The Box'.
The message was not the main part of this piece. The main reason I did this was to experiment with the use of light and shadow on type.

Weird Science
Here are three double page spreads from my sketchbook for the 'Weird Science' brief.
For the 'Weird Science' project I created glasses that change what you see. My choice of the pop art style and bright colours was inspired by Tom Wessleman after viewing his exhibition.
I put my designs of the weird world onto a computer screen to see how it would look.

Promises Always Look Good On Paper
This was when I came up with putting type into leaves.
I cut the letters out of paper and got people to write down promises they have made or been told recently. On the paper I wrote all of them down so from a distance it looks like the veins of the leaves, but when you concentrate, you can see all the promises.
I wanted to put this in a fragile environment. This was to represent the fact that promises are not always kept.

3D Workshop
We were working from sketches we did before entering the workshop. This was from a still life drawing I did of cardboard boxes.
I decided to focus on the 'peas' from fir trees. I used many different methods of metal manipulation. My favourite was plenishing the metal with a round headed hammer to create the rough surface.
