Paintings - Ink

We were put into pairs and started to experiment with painting with ink. I really like the texture and feel you get from ink the depths you can create from just one layer. The images above are created from only using white ink on black paper, I have edited them as I took photos of the piece and the photos didn't really capture the colours and textures that well.

In this piece we had started to introduce colours. I really like the subtle use of the blues and greens.

First Time Developing A Film

This was my first experience using an analogue camera, I am really please with this outcome. I was trying to capture people in their environment. This image really captures the worker in the working surroundings. When I was taking this photo i was trying to capture the geometric shapes with the horizontal lines created by the garage door and then the vertical lines created by the 'jack' leaver on the right hand side and the shapes and reflections made by the car on the left hand side really bring this image together.

Quiet Bus Ride

In this piece I was trying to create the scene of a lonely bus ride or journey. I always find myself on my own on my journey home from work, so in this I wanted to capture the feelings of loneliness, quietness and stillness. I do not feel this image completely captures all that I was planning and hoping for but I too really like this photo as a composition.

Hand Stencil

This is a photocopy of my arm which I stencilled out a triangular pattern using a ruler, pencil and a lot of concentration.

The draft of some illustration to maybe be added to this piece.

Victoria Art Gallery - 'William Harbutt' by E.Whitney Smith 1911

I really liked the lines and shapes that this statue was made up of so I did a series of 2 minute line drawings from many angles to really capture the many shapes and texture they create.
